Who We Are
Founded in 2010 by two women who are passionate about gardening, Hawthorn Landscape is a landscape maintenance company. We have grown from a humble duo into a team of enthusiastic horticulturalists who provide professional, efficient and friendly service.
We are big enough to handle large strata and commercial properties but small enough to care about you. If you have a question, concern or a special request you can reach out to me, Kathryn, the owner. I will take your call and offer and answer your email.
We also have extensive experience in invasive species removal as well as restoration design and installation. We love planting trees and native plants and restoring natural habitats whenever we can.
We offer great customer service, respond quickly to your needs and we have found that our customers genuinely enjoy having us in their gardens!.
The Team
Kathryn Weiler
Kathryn has been working with plants for over 3 decades. She loves making things beautiful and is always looking for ways to increase and improve green spaces. She cares for the planet and uses sustainable garden practices free of herbicides and pesticides. She believes that our outdoor environments provide essential living spaces and that they deserve to be well cared for.
She also prides herself on being a great boss. She provides a fun and supportive work environment for her staff and focuses on mentorship and training to help them grow and provide outstanding service to clients.
Outside of leading the Hawthorn team, you can find Kathryn riding her mountain bike, hiking with her dog Phoebe or practicing the banjo.
Cody
Cody McLaughlin is our Equipment Manager/Crew Leader. His favourite thing about landscaping is pruning trees and rose bushes and singing loudly while driving between work sites. In his free time, Cody loves hiking, climbing, woodworking, and is learning about managing and running a business.
Julia
Julia is our Office Administrator. Although she doesn’t do much of the physical work, she’s sure does have an appreciation for nature! In her spare time Julia can be found camping, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, cooking/baking, or hanging out with her cat Wolfgang. She can’t pick a favourite plant because they are all unique and beautiful in their own way!
Alan
Hailing from Ireland, Alan is happy to have landed in Squamish and is a keen, energetic member of the Hawthorn team. His favourite tree is Arbutus, his favourite plant is lavender, and his favourite sport is Mountain Biking.
Lydia
Lydia is our Lead hand! She is a positive and outgoing member of our Hawthorn Team! She enjoys using the machines to shape beautiful hedges and make everything look absolutely stunning. In her spare time she enjoys walking/hiking with her dog!
